The origin of “Water of Life” Christian Centre goes back to the revival that took place in the mid-80s within the Catholic youth movement.

In Koszaslin, Poland, a very strong and dynamic team of several hundred people experienced personal conversion and came closer to God. Getting to know the Word brought some of them to the discovery that God was calling them to build something totally different from the traditional religious organizations.

Then the young Christians, called by God, established the “Water of Life” community.  The church was established in 1990 and is registered as a part of the Church of God in Christ  [Kościół Boży w Chrystusie]. Paweł Godawa heads the church. The call of God to pastoral ministry has been recognized upon his life. Thanks to close relationships with Christians in the Baptist  and   Pentecostal Churches the newly established community could begin having their first meetings. The Baptist Church loaned them their facilities for the meetings.

The first permanent facility of the Church is placed in Gnieźnieńska Street in the city of Koszalin. The facility is leased from the Town Council. Since 1992 the community has their meetings and conferences there. Evangelizing in the streets, playing Christian concerts has made the name of the “Water of Life” church  known to the people in the city. More people receive help and encouragement through the work of the church. The next break through is coming!

In 1997 God fulfilled His promise and opened the opportunity for the church to buy a big new building. The community became the “Water of Life” Christian Centre and the move to the new building began. This time it is the move to the church's own place. The former factory building in the Władysława IV Street is chosen. For the young Christian Church it is a great miracle in the whole of Poland! The building renovation takes a lot of time and money, but nobody has any doubts that something really significant is taking place.

Every year progress is well visible, the church grows in the number of people and people’s lives are being changed. The name of the Church - “Water of Life” is more often associated with the belief that this is the place where God satisfies the thirsty ones and gives them joy. Pastor Paweł Godawa has become known to Christians in the whole country. Many of them recognise him as their teacher and mentor.

In 2003 the city Mayor, Mr Mirosław Mikietyński, provided an official opening of the new part in the church building: The Family Centre.  Two years later the church started broadcasting their programmes on local TV.  People involved in this project produced Christian TV programmes with passion and commitment. Now tens of thousands of people in Koszalin can hear the Good News about our amazing God working in the lives of ordinary people.

The Church also began to organize annual summer conferences. People come from Poland and other countries. Every year the conferences become bigger and reach more people. The Word preached there works not only for the individuals but also for other local churches.

The church ministers stability, paying attention to and caring about the quality and commitment of many gifted and talented people.  This has opened the opportunity for the church to have a positive influence on the city.  Reaching the people of Koszalin with the Good News is the main goal of the “Water of Life” Christian Centre!
